I’ve been fiddling around with the widths for the past few days, and haven’t been able to figure out why the sidebar goes directly under the blog when WP is displayed in IE but the whole thing looks perfect in Firefox.

The URL is https://unchained-melody.net and the WP version is 1.5

Thank you in advance for any help offered..

Nope. No luck at all. The sidebar still goes under the blog even without borders/padding/margin. GR!

I’m having the same problem. I don’t know if this will help anyone, but…

it appears even if you shrink the widths, margins, etc… you can still bust the size depending what is INSIDE the box. I had a hyperlink in a post that was wider than the box and it was not being truncated. IE stretched to fit the whole thing regardless of established widths… therefore the sidebar broke and dropped to the bottom. So, look and see if some long text, like a link is forcing the box wide.

I cut the link and voila… the sidebar fell back into place.

hey, chelsea, looks like we have the same problem…geez. Also in firefox, it doesn’t work if you put a margin of 300 or less, i think…darn..

Plus sometimes your padding can cascade downwards and you end up with more than you think. List items also indent by default. This is not easy stuff. A lot of us – and Rustindy expresses it well – use simple robust code to avoid most of it but there are glitches that need hunting down. Thankyou to Mr Gates.

Has anyone figured out how to fix the sidebar? if you all look at my blog. https://blog.chongostorage.com you can see the problem im having the whole side bar has fallen to the bottom of the screen. I dont even know what i did to it. I havent edited anything on the blog. just went toit one day and it fell.. Why does that happen. Its really hard to find any information about this. I cant figure it out.. any help would be great.. thanks to anyone that takes the time to read this and reply.
