Sidebar does not show in posts

For the Single with left sidebar layout, you will want to make sure you have widgets published in the Blog Left Sidebar position.

Regarding the option of a left and right blog layout, unfortunately no; My pro version doesn’t have that either. The reason for that is the lack of requests and rare usage of that kind of blog layout nowadays.

For pages, you do get that kind of layout, just not for the blog.

But I do have widgets published in the Blog left sidebar position. They show in the blog FrontPage and in category pages, but not in a single post.

This was what I did not understand… Anyway, a wery beautiful theme.

PS: in Chrome the sidebar shows, but not in Internet Explorer. I wonder if I have an issue there, because the Explorer behaves strangely anyway when doing the blog. I have to test in an other Computer perhaps???

Hmmm….this sounds like an odd occurrence. I just tried the theme with the single layout set to have the left sidebar column. Then I published a few widgets to the Blog Left Sidebar, but I was able to see the widgets. I then tried this in Firefox, Opera, and IE edge.

What version of IE are you using?

Also, do you have your site live? If you can provide a link, then I can check this out.

I appear to have Explorer 11. The site url is:

The left sidebar shows in the blog page and category pages, but not in single blog posts, for example here:

I found after searching that many other people have issues with Windows Explorer and wordpress, but did not find solutions there.

The problem is that many who read the blog use internet Explorer. But if there is no solution I must perhaps get around the problem somehow, f ex making columns?

In the full blog post the left sidebar shows partly outside the main area. And there is a strange wide space before the footer.

Thanks for links…I just realized my older laptop has IE 11, so I loaded the Longevity demo site and changed the layout to be a left sidebar, sure enough, the sidebar floats down and out of the way. So it appears there’s a bug in the layout code.

I will work on a fix today and upload it to www.remarpro.com. Only problem though is that the review team here will have to review the changes before it goes live…which could take a few days for them.

The update will show up in your dashboard of WordPress with a one-click update.

After exploring the problem a bit more, it seems to be related to the single.php (full post template) file. Not sure what yet, but I will have a fix.

quick update…I found the culprit! It was the comment template file. Anyway, I will be uploading the update in the next 24 hours once I finish doing a few more items to be included in this update.
