I downloaded wp-cache activated it and it crashed my site. After time I discovered it was a problem with permissions. This was after I had deleted the plugin from ftp and erased the hack from my site. But it’s seemed to do irreperable damage to a portion of my default template. The right sidebar. I’ve checked it out in w3c and it’s saying there is a major error in my template, but I have no idea how to edit the user side of my website, since everything is handled through php, editting the error is much more complex than what w3c is reading as the problem. Not too familiar with the language, and I’m hoping to not have to find a new theme to run. If someone could help that would be great.

Start by removing <a id="top"></a> from your theme’s header.php file. FWIW, I can’t see any “damage” that could have been caused by a plugin.

Well that’s not the issue. I did it but no difference. I did that to make a back to the top function in the blog. Any other advice?

In that case, it needs to inside the opening <body> tag. Right now, it’s invalidating your pages. You also have quite a few CSS errors.

Actually, when I went back to start working with the css, I realized I had early today deleted the entire theme I’m using, reloaded that theme fresh out of the box, and it still didn’t pull up anything on the right side in ie. That caused me concern, and why I’m asking for help, I’m afraid the problem is deeper in the wordpress installation than we can tell just from looking at the code.

I found it, it was in a open object in the left sidebar widget. Got the hint from
