    Hello,

I set up a widget to display ads in my sidebar. In the specific test ad that I’m trying to display, I created two custom rules: It must appear on a page (https://newburghnews.press/sample-ads/) and it must appear within all posts with the category of “Obituaries” (https://newburghnews.press/2022/03/16/charles-carmine-giarrizzo-sr/)

The ad is displaying perfectly on the page. However, the ad will not appear anywhere in any of my “Obituaries” category post. I also tried testing this in all categories. The ads will not appear in the sidebar in any posts. I checked the source code from the published page and the ad doesn’t appear anywhere in it.

However… If I scrap the widget and use an ad directly within the text of a post (any category), that works fine.

The only problem is specifically within the sidebars of individual posts.

Could it be possible my theme is blocking it from showing? Or is there another problem?

Thank you in advance to anyone who can help!!

Also… No ads will display on my homepage no matter what I do. I tried changing the ad’s custom settings to display on homepage, and I also tried setting it directly to the page name. No ads, no matter the size or placement, will display on the home.

    Hi newburghnews,

    Thanks for reporting your issue.

It looks like the template that you use in your blog posts doesn’t have a sidebar. So sidebar ads cannot appear there. I recommend using the content injection placement to automatically inject your ads, e.g., after every third paragraph.

“I tried changing the ad’s custom settings to display on homepage, and I also tried setting it directly to the page name. No ads, no matter the size or placement, will display on the home.”

The content placements inject into posts and pages but will not automatically inject into your home.

The display conditions are a tool to limit the ad injection to specific types of pages, e.g., from a specific category or with a particular URL slug. They don’t force the inkjection.

Regarding your homepage, I recommend creating a placement for the header ads next to your title banner.

I guess that you build the homepage with the block editor or a page builder. If this is the case, I assume that you will be able to place Advanced Ads widgets between different sections like Crime & Safety and Local Government. we show how to add such widgets in our tutorial about integrating ads into Elementor.

    Best regards,
    Joachim

Thank you for responding. I have access to the source code for the PHP homepage. Is there something I can put in there to get a homepage ad to show from Advanced Ads??

In the ad settings, I set the specific ad > Display Conditions > General Conditions > Home Page. There must be a way thru source code to pull it out… no?

    Thanks again!

    Hi newburghnews,

    Thanks for your quick reply.

I recommend creating manual placement for these spots. Here, you can find an example of their PHP code structure.

By adding conditions, you can limit the ad delivery. For example, you have the header ad on each page, you could limit the delivery of specific ads to particular categories.

    Best regards,
    Joachim
