• I lost all my ads due to the recent WordPress update. My website is real-memory-improvement.com.

Over the last week or so I’ve tried various things to fix the situation, and taken into account various suggestions, and now I’ve changed my theme and I’m updating my pages, one at a time, which is very laborious.

I was using a Tiny Framework child theme, now I’m using a child theme of the twenty twelve theme. And I’m using the Google AdSense Insertion plugin to place the ads. Which is working … mostly.

My problem is this: even now, with all these changes, one ad in particular, a ‘skyscraper’ ad in the sidebar, doesn’t show at all, or at least not on most pages. It just pops up when it feels like it!

I’ve even cut back the number of ads in case I’d mistakenly put in one too many on some pages.

Can anyone shed any light on this? It’s got me totally mystified. In fact, if nobody can help I’ll just accept the way it is and carry on. I’m completely fed up trying to fix this and I’d quite like to get on with my life. ??

  • Hello kayten1,

have you checked the JavaScript console (e.g. in Chrome the Developer Tools)? I’m seeing some error there, although, to be honest, I’m not sure whether it is related to your problem or not. Usually, all JS errors are bad and can block other JS code from being executed, so you should try to fix this one.

Hi Rastislav, thanks for the sugggestion.

Unfortunately, I haven’t a clue when it comes to JavaScript. Could you advise me please?

Keep it fairly non-technical otherwise my eyes will glaze over and I’ll slip into a stupor (happens quite a lot!).

I’ll look weird if I ask it, but I still must: are you sure this isn’t simply because you added an ad blocker to your browser ?

I once wasted 45 minutes of my life because of a content not showing, because I had saved the image as something-banner.jpg, and adblock was automatically hiding the element ??

Hi Sabinooo, don’t worry about looking weird, any and every suggestion is welcomed with open arms.

No I don’t have an adblocker at the moment. I used to, can’t even remember why I got rid. But I can see how it could be a culprit.

One of the ‘fixes’ I tried was moving from Firefox to Chrome, but it didn’t seem to help. In Firefox (I’ve just checked) I do have a type of ad blocker, called Casion Blocker. I was getting fed up with those stupid casino sites flashing up their dumb ads all the time. Wonder why it is they can’t get the message that nobody wants their garbage, and if they do they can find it easily enough??
