    Why is it whenever I place a widget in the sidebar, it always winds up on the footer of the pages and usually looks like scrambled type?

    It does not go into the ‘sidebar’ at all.

    yes i have see it. is it the ‘podcast news’ and ‘social events’ widget ?

    i believe you use table , is it ? i don’t have suggestion to look more into the code. maybe you can use div rather then table. it’s more easy to spot where’s the problem.
