Side Nav disappears on Archive Post page

I created a static site. I now want to make our press releases into posts. I created the first test post in October and am just getting to it. It now appears in Archives. On the Archives page for October, I see my post, but the right side navigation for the site is replaced with “Archives” list.

Can’t I have both on the side bar of the Archived Posts pages?

My theme is Responsive Pro by CyberChimps.

Also, How do I get a current press release to show up on the “posts” home page (I don’t want it on my static home page)?
