Side by side in widget area

    I used a php widget, so all is good, but it won’t pull category… pretty much all posts or none.

    HI,
    maybe you have to do some CSS tweak to your theme or check the sidebar (widget areas) code of your theme. Can’t say what’s wrong without seeing it.
