Side Bar Widget, WP 2.1

    I have installed the sidebar widgets. I am unable to drag and drop item into the sidebar. Only selects the text on the screen. This does not work on any theme. Checked the js files are where they should be as was the problems with other posting I have seen on this issue. I have tried this in Firefox and IE and have even turned off my Internet security program with no resolve.

    1. Get the latest version of the widgets plugin from here:
    https://automattic.com/code/widgets/ . Make sure you get the correct one for your version of WordPress.

    2. Install it.

    3. It’ll work. Really.

    4. If it doesn’t work, then you are missing files from the WordPress installation or need to clear your browsers cache before loading the admin page. Clear the cache, double check every single file in the WordPress ZIP file to make sure they are the same filesizes between your site and the zip file. Even if you *think* you uploaded them correctly, check anyway. So many people mess this up that it’s not even funny anymore.
