Hi, I’m trying to add a showcase page to my blog. I have seen that you can add an independent side bar to this page, but my problem is my main side bar is still showing on the right hand side. any advice? many thanks.

theoretically, the ‘showcase sidebar’ should be shown on the showcase template.

if this is different in your site, try to deactivate all plugins to see if that helps; if yes, re-activate one plugin at time and test inbetween to find you which plugin is causing the problem.

if you have edited the theme in any way (via a child theme?) try to activate an unedited version of Twenty Eleven.

can you provide a link to a page in your site using the showcase template?

thank you so much, it was the twenty eleven theme extensions plug in that made the side bar appear. i really need this plug in to customise my blog, so am guessing i wont be able to have a showcase page because of this?

also, when i do have a showcase page, i dont seem to be able to have just small snippets of the blog posts (not the featured posts at the top). I have the long full post before you get to the next blog to click on. What I’d really like is to be able to see several snippets of posts down the page so that you can click on them to read. dont know if this makes sense….kind of hard to explain! And also irrelevant if I cant use the showcase page!

    thanks for your help. https://www.rebeccaprigmorephotography.com/blog
