After some pretty harsh criticism (by me) @davidwells and his development team released a soft-update to fix “title” code display issues, for Genesis themes. I can be very hard to deal with, so I’m sure David feels putting up with me is worth a 5-star rating, all by itself ?? Fixing functionality issues though, is where I’m increasing my rating from a 1-star to a 3-star rating.

There are still some issues, in the A/B Testing, for landing pages. According to David, this is also a compatibility issue with Genesis. I know their developers are working on it and my review will improve as these issues are taken care of, as well.

Shows Promise, but not if you run Genesis

The fundamental idea, behind this plugin is fantastic, but it is constructed in such a way that it simply doesn’t work, as described, when used in conduction with the Genesis Theming Framework.

Since the Plugin developer himself, has expressed that he will not be buying Genesis, to fix these issues, I’d not expect this to work correctly, with Genesis, for quite a while – at least as long as it takes for the developer to get sick of bad reviews and complaints.

We simply cannot pay $99 dollars to buy genesis to troubleshoot an issue for you for a Free plugin.

We made repeated attempts to solve this issue for you:
    https://www.inboundnow.com/support/topic/bug-landing-page-title-tags/ and https://twitter.com/InboundNow/status/430903558662537216

We need access to troubleshoot issues users are having. There is no way we can reproduce the exact issues you are having with out the proper theme and plugins your current WordPress site is using.

We cannot pay money for premium theme and plugins to fix every issue users run into. If we did we wouldn’t be a business and this free plugin would not exist at all.

We are sorry you are having issues, but again without temporary access to your server to troubleshoot the issue we cannot help you.

Thank you, have a good day.

    Bamajr,
You do know that you could create a user on your own site and allow David to have temporary access to your own deployment, so he could see what was going on?

Additionally, you could purchase, if it was that big a deal, a license of Genesis for him.

But asking a plugin developer to purchase a premium theme so that they can verify what’s going on within your own environment, and being unhappy when they say no, seems a bit off.

It’s a free plugin. What business model would make sense where he would spend money, plus his own time, to verify an issue that you may be having, which may or may not be related to his plugin?

I get it. Your development of this theme and the premium add-ons doesn’t earn you any money, for one reason or another, so the $100 price tag, for Genesis, is out of reach. I’m not sure that speaks volumes about your plugin or the premium add-on options, but Y’all act as if this is just an issue with my website, when we all know it is an issue, which will affect EVERY Single Genesis user.

I’m also being asked how, as a “FREE” plugin developer, buying a premium theme, in order to fix your free plugin, is a good business model. Seems like simple economics to me. Your “FREE” plugin actually has a number of premium add ons, right? So how is it a good business model, to eliminate the 101,000 plus websites, using Genesis, as potential customers? – that is just the Genesis customers.

I’m to understand this plugin may not work with other theming frameworks, either – for the same reasons. So how many websites, are you effectively eliminating, by not supporting premium theming frameworks/themes? We know at least 101,000 Genesis websites. What about Catalyst and Thesis users? Have you checked your plugin on them? How about checking compatibility with other plugins, which need access to the TITLE tag, to function properly, like all the SEO Plugins. Did you check your plugin’s compatibility with them?

As a policy we do not spend money on non customers. We prefer to focus our dev time on making our plugins better for all users and do not have the time to recreate user specific issues on our own servers. Which is why we asked for temporary access to fix your specific issue.

We are going to fix this issue regardless of this review. It’s just unfortunate you wouldn’t let us help you and instead you left a negative review.

    Have a good day.

I volunteered to purchase a premium add-on and you told me it wasn’t enough. So how big of a customer do I have to be, before there is value, to fix the base plugin, which is needed to use the premium add-on?

Kind of a mute point, now that someone has given you a license for Genesis. However, you should know, I don’t simply dine and dash. If the issues are fixed, I will simply change my review!

There was a soft update pushed to the plugin repository just now to fix this.

Please delete your current version and reinstall. (this will not remove your landing pages or stats)

Please verify the patch works for you.

    Thanks!

    Hey Bamajr,

Can you please delete or change this rating as promised? We pushed the fix for you.
