• Whenever I publish a new article, it is showing 6 hours ago in the SERP. Everything was fine before the WordPress update.

Suppose I published a post now and have submitted in the search console. It gets indexed now. When I search the keyword, my post appears in the SERP and it shows 6 hours ago. Technically it should show 1 min ago, 2 mins or any other time but it only shows 6 hours ago. In fact, it starts with 6 hours ago. How can it be possible if I have posted an article now and it is showing posted 6 hours ago in the SERP?

  • Google is 6 time zones away from you! Are you in Europe maybe?.

If that’s a problem then set your web server’s time or else your WordPress’ time to the time in California (Cupertino? I think) which I’m going to guess is Google’s time zone.

You may need to use post scheduling to get the effect you need.

    I hope this helps!

I tested by changing the time zone in WordPress and on servers end also but I didn’t get any success.
This is harming my website traffic.

I should have said, “Then watch your next post”. There’s not much interaction between Google and your WordPress install except when Google initiates it first.

I don’t what’s happening. I usually post 10 articles per day. Out of ten posts, one post has the correct time.
