Showing videos/photos on a post

  • I have a link to a video that I want to have on one of my posts but I don’t want viewers to have to click on the link and watch it from there, I just want them to be able to see the PLAY button on the video ON MY SITE. How do I do that?

  • Usually it’s with a plugin but you have to be using a site that allows their videos to be hotlinked. I don’t see any mention of that on the site that you link to. Sites like YouTube and Google Video do so and there’s plugins that you can use to display those videos like WP-ExtremeVideo.

    I’ve actually emailed those concerned about linking to the video and they’ve said it to be ok.
    Perhap’s I can have a search now I know what I’m kind of looking for.

    You can download from that site, I would download the movie and then upload it to your server if you have a way to play it, or just to youtube so you can insert it easily.

    YOu run into possible legal issues if you do that but I’m not looking. :whistle:
