Showing the summary of a post (help needed)

    I searched this extensively on the forum but using the quicktag <!–more–> is unfeasible for someone who already has many posts, and I can’t seem to be able to change my theme’s index.php Template to use the Template Tag, the_excerpt(), instead of the_content() – I don’t really know how to, but it also may just not have this option (I have switched to using the theme Sixteen). Are there any other options?? Many thanks.

    You should create a Child theme to make your changes. If you do not, all of your changes will be lost if you update your theme.

    Calls to the_content() in that theme are located in 4 files:

    • content.php
    • content-single.php
    • content-page.php
    • image.php
