• I’m using wordpress as more of a CMS then a blog. For my site, each ‘post’ is associated with one tag. Each tag can have multiple posts but each post only has 1 tag. I have started to produce all my tags and tag descriptions. However, at this point, some of my tags do not have any posts associated with them. I noticed that if a tag has 0 posts, the page is not created.

I still want users to be able to go to this page because there is info on the page. Namely the tag description which serves as my page description as well as an area for readers to submit info to be placed as a post under that tag. Also, I might have draft posts that I post through a script I use.. but once again, if there no ‘published’ posts, the draft posts do not get shown.

So my question is. How do I get wordpress to a tag page when the tag is empty?

  • I can’t find the discussion now, but WordPress will not return an archive result for a tag that is not assigned to published posts.

Gotcha. So I guess at easy workaround would be have a first ‘post’ for each tag so there will always be an archive result? Sounds simple to me. Just wasn’t sure if i was missing an option somewhere!

    Thanks for your help.
