• I’m an HTML dinosaur. The code on this post is based on cutting from an Excel spreadsheet, pasting into FrontPage, then grabbing the code and copying it into a WP post.

Every time I search for “tables” here, I get posts about the WP database tables, not how to DO tables as content in WP.

    Assistance appreciated.

  • I feel for you. As someone who’s had to do this conversion before, I’ll say that Excel-to-HTML coding is terrifying. It tries to control every aspect, including width, height, and anything else you can think of — on just about every line.

If you can (bear to undergo the excruciating experience of) strip(ping) all that code out, you can get it to shrink up a bit width-wise. Otherwise …

If you truly are an HTML dinosaur ::grin:: you might use a program like NoteTab Pro that will let you do a regex search/replace (search, replace with nothing).

Any hope for a WP plugin to insert a thinly-coded WYSIWYG table defined by # of columns and # of rows?

How about just making a jpg out of the relevant table and uploading the graphic?

Hmmmm! Me likey! Hell of a lot faster upload, too!!!

Hate to ask – how would one do that?
