Showing someone else's newsfeed

    Hi All,
    I am currently making a website for a friend. The future owner asked me to show his Facebook contents on his website. I installed Facebook IK registering with my own FB account. Is it possible to change the settings to display my friend’s posts without asking for his private account information? (ie; passwords, etc )

    Also, if it’s not possible to display other people’s FB contents on IK Facebook, are there any other plugins that allow me to do so?

    Hello!

    If you have your friends Facebook Page ID, you should be able to display their feed using your App ID and Secret Key.

    If they don’t have their page configured correctly, you would need access to their account to fix it.

    Thanks for the feedback Richard!
    I did as you suggested but his feed would not show up properly. I went to IK FB settings near the bottom of the dashboard menu and added his facebook page ID ( which shows at the end of someone’s homepage url, such as “john.smith.1” right? ).

    Please tell me what needs to be configured correctly.

    Is this someone’s personal profile, or is this a public facebook page?

    The easiest way to see if your public page is configured correctly is to try and access it while not logged into facebook. are you able to do so with your friend’s feed?

    If not, and it is a page, let me know and I can provide a screenshot of the ideal settings for your page.

    If not, and it is a personal profile, let me know and I can provide you with links to documentation on how to convert your personal page into a public page, and what the repercussions of doing so are.

    Hi Richard!

    I used my friend’s ID from this url;

    I can access his profile page but cannot see his feed. That’s the page whose user ID I used (hiroshi.suzuki.353 ).

    Sorry for the delayed reply!

    That appears to be a personal profile, and therefore will not work with this plugin that is designed to work with Public Pages.
