• When my posts (not pages) show, it only shows a few lines and I get “read more”
Though I didn’t instruct it to. What could be going on? It’s probably being caused by some plug-in
I’m using Universal post manager. I looked for a setting in there that could have caused it, but couldn’t find anything.

plug-ins I also have activated are
    WP-page navi
    My Page Order
    Exclude pages from Navigation
    all in one seo

    Any ideas?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

I tried this in a new clean wp site and was having the same problem.
It seems to be working with posts but not pages.

I read somewhere that it doesn’t work with page….then why is the option in the editor?

    link?
    theme?

does it also happen with the default theme?

your theme might use ‘the_excerpt();’ on the front page:
look into index.php(?) and check if there is the_excerpt(); in the loop.
if so, you could exchange it for the_content('read more');.
