• Hi, it’s me again…

My site is https://www.siljansiivin.com, forever theme.

I would like to show only one full post on my home page in addition to the slider and the four featured excerpts that belong to the Forever theme.

At the moment my home page shows four full posts, slider and the four excerpts. This is because I chose “show maximum 4 posts” from the reader settings. If I change this to a smaller amount of posts, also the same amount of the four excerpts on the top of the page disappear. (Eg. I choose “show 2” -> only two excerpts and two full posts show).

I would like to show only one full post on the main page, but show four full posts on my category, tags etc. pages. Therefore I’m sure I need to do something with my stylesheet or a .php file, but based on advice on other theme’s I couldn’t find my answer.

    Thanks a million!

To add to my last message, my categories, tags etc. pages are just like I want them to be right now. It is only the home page I would like to modify.

You can try experimenting with a function to change the number of posts on category/tags/archives pages, while setting the master “blog pages show at most” number in Settings > Reading. Here’s a tutorial you can explore:

    Good luck!
