• Yesterday, I was searching for a simple method for showing only one photo per blog post as a preview on my front page. I could only find tips on using the featured image (didn’t work for me) and writing HTML code.

I wanted to share a simpler method which worked for me. For each new blog post, I did the following:

    1) Created a new PAGE and designate it as the static front page.
    2) For each new post, upload one picture.
    2) Created a separate PAGE that would contain all the main content.
    3) Copy the URL of the new page.
    4) Click on the picture on the front page and change the URL. Insert the URL link of the new page you want to link to.
    7) After this, clicking on the photo will take you to the new page instead of an enlargement of the photo.

Here is the example on my site, which contains test content/pics:

If the visitor clicks on the photo, it will take them to my new page.

Hope this helps, although I’m sure there are more efficient methods. It’s the only method that worked for me.

  • Due to the differences between the free hosted blogs offered at wordpress.com and the self-hosted and self-installed version of WordPress supported here, you should probably post WordPress.com Support instead.
