Show/hide/reveal description text

  • Hi there,

    Straight forward and easy to use – thanks. But I have one query.

    As I’m building a directory with hundreds of entries, it’s not great to have all the descriptions listed immediately (not user friendly, difficult to quickly find term) when a user goes to the directory.

    I can see that there’s the option (in Settings) to Show description or not, but is there a way to add a Show more? – which would then push down to reveal the description text?

    I can imagine that this would be a really valuable element of this plugin for many people.

    Hi Finnie,

    thanks for your kind words. As a matter of fact I have been experimenting with this. I wanted to be able to limit the amount of characters in the description that would be shown by default. Then there would be a ‘show more’ link to reveal the rest of the description. I do have it on my laptop but it isn’t production ready, it has some nasty Javascript/CSS interaction bugs. It’s not really a smooth transition. I cannot give an ETA, but it’s definitely on the todolist!

    Sounds like you’re on to it already! – I’m sure it will be well received when you’re ready to launch with that feature.
