    No idea I’m afraid Oliver, but here’s what you could do;

    1. confirm the problem is with AO config by adding ?ao_noptimize=1 to the URL
    2. if that works, look at the page source and try to identify the script that might to pwd show/hide and exlcude that
    3. while testing keep an eye on your browser error console, the javascript errors there should be indicative of the root cause

    if the problem wasn’t there before, you could check with the theme or plugin’s developers to see what changed with the new version with regards to show/hide pwd.

    Hi Frank,

    tried the registration by adding ?ao_noptimize=1 to the URL … since there is no change in behavior –> I guess the problem is coming somewhere else …

    Although this may not solve your problem, it seems that WordPress does something funny.

    This is an old error and have seen it reappearing in 4.3
