Show social sharing sidebar by default

I was wondering if there is a way to have the social sidebar show up by default when a user clicks on a photo to enlarge it. I’m using the “NextGEN Pro Masonry” gallery type. I’m not sure the average user will know (or care) to click on the little text bubble icon to start commenting on photos. But if they had the option right off the bat, I’m guessing they’d be more inclined to do so.
