Show snippets, not full posts in category

  • Hi,

    Is there a way I can get categories to only show a preview/excerpt for a post, rather than the whole thing?

    In Settings > Reading I have ‘For each post in a feed, include: A Summary’ but that doesn’t seem to have had the desired effect.

  • I would also like to know how to do this. The nominated ‘blog’ page shows full text per post rather than a summary. Usually you can change it to your preference. The theme is really nice but this is the only thing stopping me from using it. Love to see if it’s possible!

    Hi @brettjanes,

    The “For each post in a feed, include:” setting in the Reading settings does not modify to how posts are displayed on the website, but how much of the post content is included in RSS feeds. You’d have to create a child theme to change the category page output to excerpts, unfortunately.
