[Show Slideshow] doesn’t, but [Show Thumbnails] does
-
I recently changed all my galleries from Envira to NextGen due to the former being unresponsive to my needs for a responsive, mobile-friendly gallery. I have started trying to freshen up my NextGen galleries, and in the process I seem to have completely lost the ability to display Slideshows. I.e., when I click the [Show Slideshow] link, all I get is a blank area and a [Show Thumbnails] link. The [Show Thumbnails] link takes me back to a gallery full of thumbnail images.
I could swear that Slideshows worked just the other day. But nothing I seem to do makes them work today.
The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

@michaeltiemann – Although slow loading the slideshow is working on the URL you shared.
Also to note, there are a couple of console messages that might be pointing to a possible issue with using the IP address versus the TLD, you might consider using the Reset Option under Gallery > Other Options in NextGEN Gallery as well to help things along.
Thanks!

Thanks! I’m trying to hunt down the numberical IP addresses and change to TLD. Can you share with me how to read those console messages so I can do that. I do see the Reset Option, but I’d like to do that as a last resort.
I do now see the slideshow, which is definitely progress. I also see these lines from my php error log:

@michaeltiemann – Depending on your browser it will have a “Developer” option which will then allow you to see among other things page source, element inspection, etc. Once one of these panels is opened you should also a “tab” for the Console where the errors can be seen.
As to error_Logs entries, although as far as we know there are no conflict with the X theme it does appear one may have cropped up under the conditions of your site but unfortunately, these entries alone are not enough to determine what or if that is the case.
Thanks!

Very helpful! Now, looking at the page source, I don’t understand why ngg is returning all 172 images from my gallery when I only wanted the first 20 (randomly picked). What is the right way to get a restricted set of random images from a single gallery?
Fixing the issues on my side, I see that there’s some auto-generated stuff that’s coming in from the css files related to thumbnail generation of ngg. But I don’t see where that css file is stored within the file system in order to fix it. I’m now running 3.0.0, which is perhaps out of sync with the online documentation. There’s no ngg_styles directory being created within wp-content.
Nevermind…found a way to flush the right cache and that problem is now fixed. I’ll start a new thread if I have more troubles.
