    Hello,

I am using formidable forms on my site, and I am struggling with one thing:

All incoming notifications are send from my own email address so in my mailbox I can’t quickly see which email is which.

How can I change the sender or subject of the notification email, so I have a better overview in my mailbox?

    thanks!

    Hi there,

Can you please start with the docs for sending email notifications? Thanks!

    Hello Steph,

thanks for the help. I’ve read your docs, and I am using WP Mail SMTP. So this will cause all emails send from my own email (admin) address?

Do you have a solution for still sending mail from my website, but without using SMTP?

    thanks

The handling of emails like you describe is beyond Formidable control. This sounds like a question for your web host, but transactional email could be another option.

I cannot believe there is not a solution for this! Perhaps you do not understand the problem.
We have a “Membership” form and the form filling person is required to fill in their email (and name, etc.). The email received by us should show that customer’s email address in the “From” of the email we receive.

The form has “keys” which I do not understand what they are for, but could they be used to answer this problem? Our email key is [13] or (when clicked on) [29yf4d3]Email.
There is this section which I can not find HELP with:

Click a button below to insert extra values from form entries or your site settings.

Here’s hoping that you understand the problem and can come up with a easy fix.

All other form plugins that I have used do this automatically, and I may have to switch over to one of them… Thank you in advance!

You can set the email to send from the user’s email address, but it will be very unreliable since many email providers will prevent emails from being sent, or they will likely end up in the email spam box.

The better way is to use the ‘reply to’ option and set the sender’s email address there. That way, you can still use a from address that you know is reliable.
