It would be nice if the photos were shown as rotated once they have been imported on the import page in the admin.

    Well, they are:
    Orientations-1
    Orientations-2

Pls mail me any non default oriented photo that does not automatically get properly oriented.

Note: You need ‘Keep sources’ activated in Table IX-H1 and 2

I mean for example after the Ajax import on the import page. They do get rotated on the front-end.

The above screenshots show you that it works correctly.

If you have files that do not, mail me one ( opajaap at opajaap dot nl ) so i can see what is wrong. If the photos have been edited before upload, and the orientation has been changed, and the edit program did not remove/correct the exif orientation info, you can have the problem that the orientation change will take place on an already rotated image. If this is the case, it implies a bug in the edit program, and you will have to rotate them on the album admin -> edit page.

After the ajax import, it does not show the images as rotated on the IMPORT PAGE even though they are.

The import page shows them how they are. Any manipulation would damage the exif and iptc data. You see compressed images of the actual untouched sourcefiles as how they exist in the depot, and that is the way it is and will always be.
