show quantity select field on shop page for variable products

the second link is a plugin that shows variations in a popup and I need to only show quantity field next to add to cart.

the first link is a snippet that does what I intend to do but for single products; I’m dealing with variable products.

so I went ahead and made small change in codes and made “$product->is_type( ‘variable’ )”. now it shows quantity field for my variable product however the add to cart button isn’t showed, instead it says select options and redirects to product page.

Is there a way to make snippet work for variable product?
