Show Private Posts if Permission Allowed

Currently, if a post is marked private, it is not listed even if I am logged in as the author/super admin. Many plugins can change the capability of “subscribers” such that they can view private posts (ie: User Access Manager, WP Sentry, etc). Can you make this plugin such that it can include private posts in the listing if the permissions allow for it? Or, is there something I can modify on my end. Thanks.
