    Hi there,

    when a customer cancels a payment or it was just not successful, this is not mentioned on the thank you page. It will still show “Order completed”. Is it possible to get the payment status on the thank you page so that we can add a notice for the customer in case the payment has not been made correctly?

    This would be super helpful.

    Hi benjamink1984,

    If the buyer did not complete the payment, then they shouldn’t be redirected to a “success” thank you page in the first place.
    In the Mollie advanced settings, you can choose between orders status behavior upon payment cancelation.
    The order can either remain in pending payment with the message Your payment was not successful. Please complete your order with a different payment method. or be canceled with a message Order cancelled - Your order has been cancelled. when the buyer cancels the payment process.

    thank you for your response. We are using the Orders API at the moment. I understand that the behavior does only work for the Payments API – is this correct? Can we just switch the API in the advanced settings without any problems? We are only collecting the payments through Mollie, so I think using the Payments API would be sufficient. Or are there any downsides to this?

    Hi @benjamink1984,

    I missed your response, apologies for getting back just now.
    It doesn’t make a big difference. Only some payment gateways (Klarna & Voucher) do not support the Payments API since it effectively ‘collects’ less information about the orders, because it’s just a ‘payment’.
    But at the same time, this provides you with some more fine control, like for example being able to alter what’s in the payment description, which is a feature that was recently expanded.

    So unless you do your invoicing and order tracking via Mollie and don’t provide Klarna, the Payments API has a few advantages.
