    Hi,
    The change made a couple of versions back to be able to let the user see the password they type was most welcome; are there any plans to add a similar facility to the profile edit page when a user wants to change their password? Or some PHP that can be added to accomplish it?

    Also is it possible to have a separate, standalone Change Password procedure like most other member type sites have, and remove it from the Profile edit? I am guessing I should be able to do this with CSS, using the same shortcode on different pages/locations, but before I attempt that I just wondered if there was an established method or plans to introduce this.

    Just to confirm, you want to have a “Show Password” option that will reveal the password that they are typing (to set as their new password) instead of showing * characters?

    For password reset, typically the password reset option is used. The following page explains what shortcode goes in the password reset page:

    @wpinsider-1,
    Yes, that is exactly what I am referring to. And I wasn’t referring to password reset at all; I wondered about having a separate method for users to be able to change their password, not when they have forgotten it but because they want to choose a different one without having to load the entire profile, so either a new shortcode that only displays the change password section or some other method that doesn’t involve using css to hide all the other fields. I CAN do it using css but I thought it would be a useful and less tiresome task if it could be done another way. A shortcode would be ideal, as this could be placed almost anywhere.

    Thank you. I will look into this and try to create a new shortcode in the future (so it can be placed on a separate page for password updating functionality only).
