Show Number Of Pages Under Parent

  • I am looking for a way to show how many child pages (one depth below) a parent page has. I want to list it on my site as

    THIS CATEGORY = 20 PAGES
    ANOTHER CATEGORY = 7 PAGES

    But I only want it to count the child pages directly under it, not that child’s child pages.

    Does anyone know of a way to do this or a plugin that will do this?!?! Please help! Thanks!
