• Hi, we are offering free courses on a company-internal site. How can we see the course results of non-registered users in Gradebook- Addon (which we have purchased)?

Also, is there an update on how to start a free course with registration – but without having to go through a checkout page? As we offer free courses to employees, going through a checkout (even with 0$) is not an option. This leads us to using the option of “Students can see the content of all course items and take the quiz without logging in.” But – now we can`t track results, bc results don′t show in Gradebook. Any solutions for this scenario?

    Hi lpvpa24,

    Thank you for reaching out.

The Gradebook add-on only tracks results for users with registered accounts who are enrolled in courses. For internal company use, where you want users to register without going through the checkout, there’s an option in LearnPress to allow user registration or login directly on the checkout page. You can enable this by navigating to LearnPress -> Settings -> Payments and adjusting the settings accordingly.

This way, employees can quickly register or log in without needing to proceed through a payment process, even for free courses.

Please let us know if you have any further questions!

Hi Brianvu-tp, thanks, that partially worked.
When a user now is attempting to enroll in a first (free) course, they get the error message that the cart is empty. When, after that, they try to start a different course – it works without issues, they can start with lesson 1. Any idea what causes this and how it can be fixed?

    Thanks!

    Hi lpvpa24,

    Thank you for the update!

The issue could be due to the link or cookies not being processed correctly. Please try saving your Permalinks again in WordPress Settings -> Permalinks to see if that resolves the issue.

If the problem persists, could you let us know if the user encountering the issue already has an account or not when attempting to enroll in the first (free) course? It would also be very helpful if you could attach a screenshot or a video of the error message occurring. This will allow us to provide a more accurate solution.

Thank you, and we look forward to your response!

    Best regards,

Hi Brianvu-tp, saving the permalinks again did not help.

The users are logged in to our portal already when clicking to start a course. I′ve attached a screenshot of the error message. Sorry it’s in German, saying that the cart is empty. When the user goes back to the previous page and clicks on start again, then the first lesson appears.

    URL is sitename/lp-checkout/

Any further help would be greatly appreciated.

    BR!

Edit: sorry upload of image failed

    Hi lpvpa24,

Thank you for the additional details!

From your description, it seems likely that a caching plugin might be causing this issue. If you’re using a caching plugin, could you please try temporarily disabling it to see if the error persists?

Additionally, to rule out conflicts with other plugins or themes, you could switch to a default theme like Twenty Twenty-Four and disable all plugins except for LearnPress. This will help us identify if another plugin or theme might be interfering with the course enrollment process.

Please let us know how it goes, and we’ll be here to assist further!

    Best regards,
    Brianvu-tp
