Hmm, I wonder if the issue is that (I think) all your events in that category are recurring.

Out of interest, if you add a non-recurring event to the same category – just by way of testing my theory – do you find it also shows?

Hi Thanks for the reply. I tried another Category but still only shows 3 events?

Interesting. There are a number of things on your site that catch my eye, though – the lack of times below the calendar widgets and various other things.

Has much customization been done? Do you experience the same issues (with the event embed shortcode) if you test without any customization work?

Hi, yes the client was bit fussy about what they wanted displaying! I have removed all the css customisation and the page still only shows the 3 events. I tried with a different category but it is the same so I don’t know what to do unless there is a plugin conflict somewhere – would that make sense?

    It’s a possibility for sure.

It could also be a bug if all of the events in this other category are also recurring (but there are only three “root” events), might that be the case/were you able to apply the test I suggested originally?

I tried categories which have no recurring events and these did not work either. The only customisation work was via css and I removed all that and tested and still only 3 events were listed.
I will try disabling other plugins and then give up!
Thanks for your advice so far.

No problem, sorry to hear it’s been such a rough ride!

I will try disabling other plugins and then give up!

Do remember that themes can also influence many of the same things that plugins can – so in addition to testing without other plugins switching to a default theme may also be worthwhile.

    Hi there

I am having the same problem on a site that I am developing locally on my MAMP server using WP 4.1.1 and the Warp7 framework.

Any updates on how to change this or how to specify the number of events listed using this shortcode?

    Thanks

Is this also in relation to the [event_embed] shortcode and can you show me how you are using it?

What happens in a “plain vanilla” environment (with only a default theme and no other plugins bar Event Rocket and The Events Calendar)? Can you try adding a limit parameter to the shortcode, like this:

    [event_embed limit="5"]
