Show html only on pages with certain parents

I’ve been successful with using php to only show some html code for certain pages on, for example, the footer using “if (is_page)”. However, the list of pages I need to only show the code for is growing, and I’d like to instead show code for pages with certain parents. I suppose I could start setting up different templates, but would prefer to use this method.
