I’m not sure I get what you mean. Can you please elaborate?

Presently fields can be “hidden” and made editable and viewable by admins only.

Can the same fields be made viewable (not editable) by all logged-in members (not just admins) in the frontend?

    Thanks.

I would agree it would be great to be able to have the profile field visible to all but only the admin can edit it from backend..
So you can have a field like VERIFIED that the admin sets and is visible to all but the member cant touch…

Hi, getting a fatal error when trying to install:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class BP_Admin_Only_Profile_Fields in …/wp-content/plugins/buddypress-admin-only-profile-fields-master/bp-a

    How can I fix it?

//Figured it out, had the previous version of the plugin still installed

Awesome @buckybeever, let me know if there’s any issues with the forked version there.

Thanks! Was wondering if its possible to still have only me available for profile member, but also ONLY editable by admin

    Hi @buckybeever,

In my fork here – https://github.com/garrett-eclipse/buddypress-admin-only-profile-fields

    I added a few visibility options;
    Admin Internal
    Admin Editable

I believe Admin Internal is the one you’re looking for as it’s only editable by the admin and only displayed on the user’s own profile other users won’t be able to view the field.

Let me know if that doesn’t cover your specific case and elaborate as to what you’re seeking and I can either modify one of the existing visibilities or add an additional to cover your case.

    Cheers

Hi Garrett, thanks for your reply.

Was hoping to have custom field content added only by the admin, and then viewable only by each member. So then the new fork that you added would have the option of making sure that the user was the only one able to view the content too.

    Hope I explained that better

    Hi @buckybeever,

For sure thanks, install the fork and give Admin Internal a try it’ll allow the field to be edited for each user only by the admin and only visible to admin and the user so no public users will be able to view.

Let me know if that doesn’t hit the nail on the head for you.

Hi thank you, I have the fork installed and admin internal enabled, I added new custom pages to functions, and now when another user views another members profiles, they can view the custom fields content for the other member on that page, and now Im not sure how to stop that from happening.

    Hi @buckybeever,

I’m not quite following, can you share code?

Sounds like you’re adding additional profiles pages to a user and have custom field displaying there rather than the standard profile page and xprofile loop.

If you want to have me login to look/edit you can email me credentials to nightbook [dot] g [dot] hyder [at] gmail [dot] com

I’ll be out for a couple hours but can take a look this evening.
    Cheers
