    Greetings!

We have large Google docs text files with a lot of footnotes in them. We would like to show these docs in wordpress. With the help of the plugin it works. However, clicking on any footnote’s number will jump away from the text to the footnote.

We would like to stay and show the footnote’s text in a popup (I mean shown there in a little box). How can this be done?

    thanks and greetings

    Tamás

    Hello @koostamas,

I trust this message finds you in good health.

We haven’t received any response from you for many days. Would you kindly get back to us with sharing the page link where you embedded the Google Docs with footnotes. So that we can check and assist you with that.

    Thank you!

    hello Paul,

First of all I highly appreciate that you remember my issue and you have returned to me with your message. Thanks a lot.

Here you are the test page: https://www.sors.uk/embeded/ (password: gyerek). It works fine, clicking on the footnote jumps to the appropriate note. Good.

However, I would like to show the note on the same page in a popup box, like this: https://photos.app.goo.gl/VMB15wCx6gNG5Ssr5

    How can this be achieved?

thanks a lot, and friendly greetings, Tamás

    Hi again @koostamas,

Thank you for your response and for providing additional details. I have thoroughly reviewed your inquiry.

Actually, EmbedPress is designed to facilitate the embedding of content directly from the source as it was. But it’s not possible to make customizations to the embedded content. If your content inherently includes a pop-up box feature for foot notes, it should function accordingly after being embedded. Unfortunately, we are unable to assist you in this case. We’re really very sorry!

I hope this clarifies the situation. Please feel free to reach out if you require any further assistance.

    Thank you!

I’m grateful for your time and effort. I understand that you embed directly the document as it is. The plugin is nice and useful.
