Show excerpt in category page

Please help

Hi,

firstly make a chil theme using plugin.

then copy index.php from your main theme directory and paste it into the child theme directory open it(child theme index file) and replace the code with below code given in link –

code after replacing the code save the file.

your issue will be solveed after the above changes.

I have tried changing the code in index.php as mentioned, still complete post is visible instead of excerpt. I think code needs to be changed in category.php. Please help.

Thank you for your support. Excerpts are now showing on the category page but, length of excerpt is around 8 words, how can I make it default 55 length & read more link with it.

You can change the words length –
Go to Dashboard -> Appearance -> Customize -> Theme Options -> Excerpt Option -> here you can change length and save.
