Show driving distance instead of straight line distance

    Hi,
    Is there a possibility of displaying the distance as shown in Google maps between a user’s location and the Store? For example in the listings it says 1.8km (I assume this is straight line) but then when clicking Get Directions and opening navigation in Google maps the actual driving distance is 3.5kms etc.

  • Hi there,

    This is done like this by design. The store locator tries to find the closest stores based on straight line distance, but when it comes to show the directions it uses Google Maps driving directions, which obviously can be a bit longer than the straight line distance depending on the terrain, available roads etc.

    Since calculating directions is a very costly operation, Google does not offer this functionality on a “bulk” search where you are going to display potentially dozens or even hundreds of locations on a map at the same time. Sorry about that.
