I think I’m missing something really simple here. I want the comments (using Jetpack) to show on my homepage.

In the admin bar I have Settings>Reading>Front page displays: “Your Latest posts” selected.

On each individual post’s page I have Discussion>Allow Comments selected.

Still, the comments won’t appear on the homepage. However, when you click on the homepage title of the post it will take you to the actual post’s page and the comments will appear there.

Is there no way to make the comments appear in both places?

  • Hi there,

This kind of posts page layout isn’t supported in Make. You would need to edit your theme files to achieve this. Sorry that isn’t the answer you were hoping to hear.

    Hi,

I appreciate your reply. Coding the theme files is beyond my skill level, but good to know it might be possible down the road.

By the way, what I decided to do is to truncate my post on the homepage using the “Read More” option (found in the post editing tools). Then, when people are on the homepage, they have to click “Read More” to see the rest of the post. That will take them to the complete post (it’s actual page), which has the comment section on the bottom. It works for now.

Can you tell me, is there a way to change the “Read More” words? I’d like it to say some thing like “Continue Reading…” instead.

Unfortunately not without editing your theme files. :\ This is a WordPress function rather than a function of the theme.

I appreciate you getting back to me. I will check that out. I’ll mark the topic as resolved now. Thanks!
