Show child links only on parent page

Hello,

I am using the Cleaker 2.1 theme and trying to have a side nav link to a child page display only on the parent page, not in the main index page side nav. There have been a few posts about this for earlier versions of WP and I’ve tried a few solutions but nothing seems to work so far. I’ve tried adding a little logic to the wp_list_pages function, also with no luck.

I appreciate any assistance.
