If you’re using the shortcode, you can display the author’s name a couple different ways by visiting the Options page. There’s also a built-in widget that will display the authors, too, so you shouldn’t have to resort to using the shortcode unless you really want to.

    Hi Chris,

    Thanks for the quick response.

I tried using the built in widget to show recent posts, but the thumbnail is very small. Having read the support forum I found that the size can’t be changed. Therefore I’m using the shortcode in a widget so I can have the thumbnails at 150px.

When I look at the page of reviews, the title appears, as per the settings in my options panel. I just can’t get it to show the author in the shorcode. Here’s what I am using:

    [book-reviews count=4 covers=true]

    Thanks
    Jo

Have you changed the “Display Author with Title” setting? This is what controls the displaying of the author name next to the book title. Of course, since you’re using the widget, this will also affect your other book review listings and may have other effects depending on your theme/plugins you have installed (which is why it’s disabled by default).
