    Hi

is it possible to show attendees from an ics file?

In my company we have a group calendar for big events in Outlook. I want to display the events on our Intranet site with title, date/time, description and attendees. I created an ICS file, published it via webDAV and inserted the URL using your plugin. Works fine but I cannot make the attendees show up. I activated the field “attendees” in the selected list type but that doesn’t work. It seems that this field works only for events created in wordpress (showing the attending WordPress users).

    Thanks in advance

Hi cityfox – there was some partial support for simple cases – not frequently used. I’ve thrown a few test cases against it with more complicated parameters and it needs tweaking. I’ll try to have a look at in the next couple days.

ok – there is basic update that may be up soon. Attendee possibilties are many (attendess status, delegations to/from etc)
High likely that anyone using attendees would have custom needs.

What sort of attendee listing are you expecting ? Can you post a test of your ics file with sample data?

    Hi anmari,

thanks for your time – I’m looking forward to the update. Unfortunately I cannot post an ics file due to data protection principles of my company (partly government-funded). So I try to describe our needs as good as possible:

We all have our own calendar in Outlook. Additionaly there is a calendar with big events that are interesting for a lot of colleagues (e.g. faires or conferences). I want to display this calendar with attendees on our Intranet site for two goals:

    1) To give a quick overview about the upcoming big events for the next couple of months.

    2) To give a quick overview about the attendees for better coordinating among each other. So a simple list of persons (first name and family name) who have registered themeselves as attendees for this event in Outlook.

We use Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013 with Exchange Server.

4.22 will offer basic support for ACCEPTED Attendees and some attendee counts (by participation status).

If you want a more sophisticated solution, a custom add-on could be made available. If you ok to email a sample of your ics file (can always do a bulk change on email addresses perhaps – or just cit a representative subsection and generalise the data. email [email protected]

So sorry for my late response. First I was out of office, then I hat some other urgent things to do. After that, I tested your update but couldn’t make the attendees show up. I spoke with my IT colleague who has always lot to do so I had to wait for support. Finally he found out that the attendees are not included in the ics file. After some testing he gave up and said that it must be a Microsoft problem.

I’m so sorry that I haven’t found out earlier that the problem is on our side. I hope that others will benefit from your solution. It would be so great to have the possibilty to show attendees on our Intranet site but my IT colleague said we can only wait and hope that Microsoft will offer the option to include attendees in the ics file soon.
