I have a blog poster who constantly sends large images (6-8meg in size) even though I’ve tried to get him to make them smaller. I know if I was to manually create a blog post, and lost large images, wordpress will resize the images to the sizes set for thumbnail, medium and large in the config. But when large images come through Postie, it seems as though the process never finishes. I just see 3 curl; tags on the screen when I try to manually process messages. After the 3 curl; nothing else happens, it just hangs. I know the email is 17mb in size, I would have expected Postie to resize the images, especially as in the image settings I’ve set it as Medium as per FAQs ({CAPTION})

Also, as the process never seems to complete, I don’t get a failure email, or anything. Perhaps the process should have an inbuilt time-out so that this can be indicated that the email couldn’t load.

Am I missing something about image resizing?

I suspect what is happening is that PHP is running out of memory and killing the import. Unfortunately Postie has no control over this.

I was afraid it might be something like that causing the issue.
