Should new social login users get the WP welcome email?

    Hi all,
    When a new user registers on my site by email address, they get a welcome email from me (specifically from the SP Welcome Email plugin, but it works without that too by receiving the standard WordPress welcome email).

    If they sign up using a social button, they don’t get the welcome messages. I’m not sure if that’s expected, not expected, or even configurable. I don’t see any UI options and my limited (okay, novice) abilities in the code meant I didn’t discover how to fire of that welcome message.

    Any feedback would be most appreciated, even if it’s “can’t do it”.

  • I have a very similar problem. A new registration only using WP Social Plugin is not sending out the WP new user notification to the admin.
