Hi, I just installed YouTube Lyte for the first time, in a multi site, and it has no effect whatsoever.

Should it work with multisites, or is there some restriction?

FWIW: I installed the plugin, activated it network-wide, adjusted some of its settings on one website, like “Cache thumbnails locally” and a text to be placed below it, inserted a Youtube link, saved, and – nothing. (Cleared all cache several times) The site still connects to Youtube and Google when loading, and also the placement setting “centered” shows no effect.

I should add: I have no API key

lyte config does not work network-wide, you’ll have to configure for each child site separately I’m afraid.

    hope this clarifies,

Okay, I just got it to work. Maybe you should emphasize that, if you only use a regular Youtube link (i.e. no shortcode, no playlist), “https” has to be changed to “httpv” for it to work. At least that’s what I experienced.

(The description states: “The plugin picks up on normal YouTube links” and only later “alternatively you can…” – I interpreted the first part as “Just paste the normal YOutube link and it works”)

Appart from that, it seems to be a very useful plugin, thanks!

Normal YouTube links _should_ work; httpv is still supported, but not needed any more. I guess your theme or another plugin is beating LYTE to it dogel.

I created the theme myself, and it’s not too complex. What could be a reason for that behaviour?

well, anything that acts on youtube links basically, either in your (self-coded) theme or in another plugin?
