Hi I have been wondering whats best for SEO in a custom theme. If in front page I have in h1 tag “My name”</h1>” then h2 a slogan, then if I am in an article page, the text that are h1 and h2 in the homepage should become something like a span tag in other pages?

Sorry I wasn’t sure if this was the right forum I apologize if it isn’t, and please move it accordingly.

I suggest examining how one of the later Twenty* model themes handle this. I believe they are close to what you suggest. Ultimately it’s really up to you which headings you want to tell search engines are the most important on any particular page.
