• my problem is, the update for 3.5.1 is the US version, not the UK version as the rather confusing message underneath the install update button reads

    “you are about to…in English (UK)…”

    Er, not according to the “Download 3.5.1-en_US” button I’m not!!!

    . Should I wait for the UK version – if so how long? – or should I just install the US version even though it might “break my translation” as the warning that follows worryingly suggests?]

    Dashboard update message reads:
    ” You can update to WordPress 3.5.1–en_US automatically or download the package and install it manually:

    Update/ Download 3.5.1–en_US

    You are about to install WordPress 3.5.1 in English (UK). There is a chance this update will break your translation. You may prefer to wait for the localised version to be released.”

    Thanks for your anticipated help!

  • Uh? There isn’t a UK version of WordPress.

    Yes there is.

    en_GB (“Great Britain”) uses UK english for spell checker etc. This stuff is never on the radar for people in the US.

    <BUMP>

    And now it’s asking to upgrade to 3.6-en_US with still no sign of the UK version.

    In all previous WordPress updates the UK version tended to follow a couple of weeks after the US one.

    I’ve been holding off updating for ages, but my various Security Plugins are screaming at me to update….
