Hello, I’m having a strange issue with this plugin(after much search, I narrowed it down to it):

When I upload a new version of a picture(webp), WordPress for some reason uploads the old deleted version instead of the new one I just told it to upload.

Is this bug linked to Optimization Records? Should I use the Clean Optimization Records feature before uploading the new version of a picture?

    Thanks.

    Hello,

No, I would recommend against clearing the optimization records. That function removes the records that our plugin keeps to know what has been optimized and what hasn’t. If you clear those, then it won’t know that anything has been optimized and will try to optimize everything again when you next run a bulk optimization.

This doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with our plugin, but if you are uploading a new picture and the old one keeps popping up, you must be uploading an image and naming it the same thing as the old one. That is generally not a good practice. If you want an image to be replaced, it’s usually better to add a version number or something to the new image file name or to use a find/replace tool. Otherwise, you can run into issues like you are finding.

And yes, I’m uploading with the same file name, after deleting the old file with the Media Manager, which would be better for organization purposes. I once had to replace 9+ pics due to an issue and ran into this bug.

I’ll refrain from using that feature again then. I had talked in the www.remarpro.com forums about this and they told me to ask here about it, since I mentioned I had the plugin.
