    Hi again, Lemming!

I don’t think those tags bring any value to your product for potential visitors from the search engine. So, yes, I believe it’s best to deindex them.

P.S. I see that your admin-footer is experiencing an error! ?? Our CSS and JS files aren’t being loaded in (character counters are at 0, the SEO Bar isn’t colored, etc.). You may want to deduct which plugin causes this issue by deactivating them one by one.

P.P.S I see that the shortcode isn’t being filtered from our auto-generated description. This is because WordPress doesn’t know it’s a shortcode in the back-end. Shortcodes should be registered at init, independent of the view, for the most consistent user experience. I understand it’s counter-intuitive from a performance standpoint, but registering shortcodes add little to no weight; only executing them might. Feel free to link the creators of that plugin back to this topic to make them aware ?? Cheers!

Hi Sybre, good to see you again!

Thanks for your reply. I really appreciate you taking the time to explain the errors that you’ve noticed.

The error that you mention is only at the back end, right? It doesn’t have any effect on the overall site performance?

I’ll send a link to this topic to the plugin creators.

    Thanks & cheers.

EDIT (I can’t edit my previous answer): So this is basically “just” a cosmetic issue, right? The “noindex” function of your plugin will still work OK?

Yes, the error is only at the back-end. It’s as you said: basically just a cosmetic issue.

If you can see the colored SEO bar on the tag-overview page, then the “I” should be blue and state the tag isn’t indexed. That should be enough of an indicator that the term shouldn’t be indexed.

    Thanks, Sybre, good to know.

The “I” is unfortunately not visible (like on standard “Category” and “Tag” settings pages) but soon enough I’ll see if these tags are being indexed or not.

I also notified the plugin creator about this issue. Maybe this is something they can solve without affecting their plugin.

Thanks again. Have a nice day.
